Sports Camp: Selected Year 8 Students 

A five-day camp that involves coaching, competition and relationship building for students who show particular skill in a range of sports.
Applications are now open and will close on Friday, 7 May 2021.

A caregiver should answer most sections, however, one section (Student’s Involvement in Sport – Part B) will need to be answered by the student wanting to go to camp so they will need to be available when the form is being completed.

By completing the online form, you are applying for your child to attend the Year 8 Sports Camp and giving permission for your child to attend if accepted.

Camp Information:
The Totara Springs Camp is in Week 10 of Term 2 and we have the opportunity to send one team of up to 38 students.
The level of competition between school teams is extremely high so it is essential we select and send our top athletes.
It also requires students who are team players on and off the field and have a high level of self-management.
The camp involves participation in a number of sports, so versatility and fitness are serious considerations when we select the team.
Trials will be held near the beginning of Term 2 to aid our selection process.
Application closing date will be confirmed - no late applications will be considered.

  • Dates: 5 – 9 July, 2021
  • Cost: $370.00 (includes a team T-Shirt)
  • Payment will be required by 10 June 2021
  • Refunds – in the case of late withdrawal from the camp due to injury or illness, a partial refund may be available. The amount of the refund will be dependent on the costs incurred in relation to the time of withdrawal. There is no refund if a student leaves camp due to disciplinary action.
  • Venue: Totara Springs Christian Centre, Matamata
  • Transport: Bus
  • Departure: Students meet 7:45am at bus bay in Longmore Lane
    NOTE: NO PARKING OR DROP-OFF in Longmore lane or the Silverdale School car park
  • Return: 3:45pm at the Longmore Lane Bus Bay

Parent/Caregiver Helpers:
There are limited spaces available for parent/caregiver helpers (2 male and 2 female). Please indicate on the parent/caregiver helper page of this form if you would like to be considered. There is no cost for parent/caregiver helpers and they will be able to travel on the bus with students. Parents/caregivers attending camp will need to complete a police vet form to comply with school policy.

Year 9 Camp

A five-day camp held at MiCamp Taupo that includes outdoor adventures and a day hiking trip.

Camp Information:
Students participate in various outdoor adventure activities including: a visit to the Taupo Aquatic Centre, a day hike in the Tongariro National Park depending on the weather, prawn park visit, rope courses, archery, Burma trail, problem solving and team building activities, night games and barn dancing.
Dates: 29 November – 3 December 2021
Cost: $490.00
Payment will be required by Monday, 1 November 2021

Parent/Caregiver Helpers:
We also need parent/caregiver help on this camp. If you would like to be a parent/caregiver helper on the camp, please indicate your intent in the online form when filling in your child's details. Please be aware that camp is very popular with our parents/caregivers and there is a limit to the number we can take. Parents/caregivers attending camp will need to complete a police vet form to comply with school policy.

Relationship Evenings

These evenings are offered as part of the Health programme and assist parents in educating students in issues relating to the physical and emotional changes of the emerging adolescent.
Year 7, 8 and 9 students/parents – each Year level will be on a different evening.
