Kingsway School

KingsWay School is a State Integrated school with our Special Character being Christian. This means that we use the New Zealand National Curriculum along with other State Schools but that we have developed it to have Christian beliefs, values and contexts. Our KingsWay Curriculum is a good place to see what we use for our Middle School programme design here at KingsWay School. At the heart of our choices is our desire to provide every opportunity for our young people to be all that God has created them to be so that they can thrive as they grow.

In Middle School, we choose contexts that are relevant and engaging for our young people. Learning is designed with the middle schooler in mind. We understand the importance of students being involved in their learning process. Students are involved in inquiries, goal setting, self-assessing and presenting their learning to others in a variety of ways. Many activities are planned throughout the year to encourage a culture of trying new things, healthy competition and having fun together.

We are intentional in the way we support students as people. Pivotal to this is the development of their Christian faith. Our Special Character permeates all that we do. All teaching is designed through a Biblical Worldview and is outworked through our principles, values and key competencies. Our love for God pervades the learning experience with examples including daily devotions, worship, Biblical Studies, Service Days, along with other experiences such as the Youth Alpha series and visiting speakers.

We are very grateful that we have so many specialist teachers and facilities to enable such a wide range of learning options and the ability to continually further integrate our curriculum experience.
