Middle School - One Vacancy

ESOL teacher, Middle School and Senior School (Y7-13) – fixed term, part time 0.8, from 4 March to 5 July, 2019

We invite applications from experienced ESOL teachers with a passion and expertise for teaching Middle and Senior School English language learners. Experience in working with English Language Learning Progressions (ELLP) and the NZ curriculum is preferable. A Graduate Diploma in TESSOL would be an advantage.
A strong commitment to uphold our Christian special character, restorative practices, as well as culturally responsive and relational teaching approaches is essential. Senior School Mathematics (Y10-13), permanent, full time - suitable for beginning teachers

An opportunity exist for passionate, innovative educator to join the collaborative Mathematics team in the Senior School (Y10-13), on the Senior Campus. Statistics would be an advantage. The Board of Trustees require participation in the co-curricular life of the school. Applicants must be NZ registered. The Senior School is well resourced, with a current student roll of 478. Tau Te Arohanoa Akoranga Teaching positions (Years 1 - 9) - One Vacancy

Year 1-4 Primary teacher, permanent, full time, 2SU – commencing Term 1, 2019 or by negotiation

We seek an experienced teacher with the ability to teach Year 1-4 but with an interest or added experience in Year 5-9. There must be a commitment to raise student achievement in literacy and numeracy within a culturally responsive curriculum. For the right person, this appointment will grow into a leadership role.
Tau Te Arohanoa Akoranga is a satellite school of KingsWay and has a roll of 21. It is currently located in the premises of Woodhill School, Helensville (with the probability of relocation to Kumeu, on site with Kumeu Baptist Church, at the start of 2020).

Te Reo Maori is a strong focus of the school and applicants must be able to support and develop this as the community develops a robust Te Reo Maori programme that supports our bilingual aspirations. TEACHER AIDE - Learning Support Department

Positions exist in our Primary, Middle and Senior Schools for Teacher Aides working as generalist teacher aides with students who require learning support.

Teacher Aides require excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with parents, students, teachers and learning support specialists. A sympathetic nature, flexible attitude and a love of working with students are prerequisites. These positions are to support student learning in groups or on an individual basis. While experience would be an advantage, we are willing to train a suitable applicant.

This is a part time position during school terms with flexible hours by mutual agreement.

Junior Campus Librarian/Literacy Education and Support

KingsWay School is a state integrated school with a Christian character and it is located on the beautiful Hibiscus Coast. We have two modern campuses; the Senior Campus is located in Red Beach and the Junior Campus is located nearby in Silverdale. Applicants should be able to model and ideals and behaviours that exemplify the principles and vision of our school.

The Junior Campus Librarian and Literacy Education and Support position will be responsible for creating a Primary School library environment that is conducive to learning, including managing control of a class of students without teacher support. Our goal is for our students to love learning and reading, becoming literacy learners who can effectively use our Primary School Library material and information to support their ongoing education.

The ability to provide appropriate library material as well as cataloguing, processing, storing and the distribution of Library material to students and staff is part of this role. Most importantly we would like the Junior Campus Librarian to facilitate learning, create a fun and positive environment which will grow learner potential. Librarian qualifications would be an advantage.

This is a permanent, part time position for 24 hours per week, 40 weeks per annum (school term time only). Five days will be required for set up from 17 January and then commencing the school year on Tuesday, 29 January.

The right person will have the following key attributes and characteristics:

  • Have a special interest in Primary School aged students and literacy
  • Be able to manage and take control of a class without teacher support
  • Facilitate and motivate a love of literacy with children
  • Create a fun, positive library environment
  • Grow learner agency and potential
  • Be well-organised, show initiative, be flexible and a self-starter.
