The College section of KingsWay School covers Y10-13 and builds on the excellent foundations laid in Middle School. The college curriculum links students to the National Qualification Framework (NZFQ) and the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA). The high expectations of teachers, parents and students, ensures academic as well as co-curricular success. KingsWay students perform well above the national average in external examinations and move on to successful tertiary study in significant numbers equipped with the skills and love of learning that continues to serve them for the rest of their lives.
The college also aims to teach and encourage young people to grow in Christian character and “servant leadership.” Our graduating students leave us with a strong commitment to honesty and justice, the confidence and ability to communicate effectively in an increasingly multicultural society, compassionate and concerned for the needs of others, knowing how to apologise graciously when wrong and how to work effectively in a team with others for a common purpose.
We also seek to instill in our students an appreciation for the natural world and the need to preserve and manage it wisely, as well as a respect for the importance of history culture and heritage across time and diversity.
Above all the college encourages students to be wise servant leaders whose lives are based on an understanding of what it means to love God with all their heart, mind, soul. and strength. To this end we endeavour to teach each student to know his/her own limits and to have a sense of the preciousness of life and the gift of time.
It is a privilege to be part of the KingsWay community and to work alongside such excellent and dedicated educators who are passionate about inspiring and encouraging young people to enjoy learning and find their potentials. If our faith and values interest you, we welcome your enquiry.
