Welcome to Netball at Kingsway. Netball as a team sport is offered to Kingsway students from year 4 through to year 13. Though predominantly a female sport, boys are allowed to compete at an equal level until age 13, so if there are any young blokes that want to mix it up with the girls, let’s see your ball skills on the netball courts.
Kingsway Year 7 & 8 netball is affiliated under the Hibiscus Coast Netball Centre.
During the 2011 season, Kingsway entered 5 teams in the Hibiscus Coast competitions. The 2012 season should see roughly the same team numbers.

Cancellations
Hibiscus Coast (HBC): Netball is only cancelled in extreme weather conditions, i.e. Thunder and lightening. The message on the HBC phone at the centre will be updated if there is a cancellation. So if you are concerned about the weather, please phone (09) 424-2318 as close as possible to game time, for an update. As far as possible, team coaches and/or managers will be notified as soon as cancellation notices are circulated.
Forfeits: If your team cannot play on the designated game time, it is imperative that the team coach/manager contacts Mrs Lynda Hay ASAP to organise the cancellations with the centres and the affected opposition teams. It is very important to do this through the formal channels to ensure the communication is circulated to the correct parties.

During the season we deal with many issues ranging from team selection, grading, umpires or even general team issues. It is important that we be made aware of any issues that might arise around netball, so if you have any queries or concerns relating to netball issues, we would appreciate your feedback or questions. Coaches and Managers:
We believe that it is imperative that every child gets the best possible experience from their sporting opportunities. To this end, we do require dedicated managers and sport coaches to assist with the running of teams. If you are able to volunteer your time, please inform the Teacher in Charge of the code in which you wish to be involved. Every code will have access to specialised coaching this year on an infrequent basis to assist coaches, however, coaching courses can be organised to up-skill volunteers.

Please note: All sporting fees include an administration fee, equipment(only for sports who are supplied with KingsWay Sports equipment) , uniform (only for sports who are supplied with KingsWay sports uniform), coaching, van costs (if the school van is used) and Teacher in Charge of Sport costs. The coaching portion of the fee is used to bring in specialist coaches to give coaching to our coaches.

Netball Parents Information Night
You are invited to an information evening on Tuesday 20th March in the Conference Room. Come and hear how we would like to partner with you to make a positive difference in your daughter’s life through sport and also meet your daughter’s team coach.
Time: 6:30 pm for tea and coffee. 6.50pm meeting commences, 7.30pm parents combine with their daughters to finish in a fun lighthearted way.
Goal Setting Evening
Intermediate and Senior School Netball Teams.
Teams and Coaches meeting Tuesday, 20th March, 6.30pm in the Event Centre. Teams will be given information on the season, set team goals, compile team rules, expectations and more. We would love all netball players of Intermediate and College teams to be there.
