Welcome to hockey at KingsWay School.
We are looking forward to a great year of hockey. Hockey at KingsWay School is going from strength to strength and a number of our teams excelled in their particular grades last season. We are aiming for more success in 2010. We would like to thank all parents, coaches and managers in advance. Without your commitment, unity and strength, we would not be able to field the number of teams that we do. All hockey games are at Rosedale Park in Albany (Constellation Drive turnoff) and training will be on the school astro turf.

Secondary School Games Cancelled - Friday 23 July
Intermediate training Friday 23 July will be in the Event Centre.
Please note that all games will still be played unless you are notified. If there is torrential rain North Harbour Hockey will only “Rain Off” play (as they put it) at or after 2 pm that day. Please check their website for notification. TICs will endeavour to get word out as soon as any cancellation is known.

With Crown Relocation sponsorship agreement coming to an end, please note that the Crown 1 and Crown 2 fields have now been renamed Harbour 1 and Harbour 2. Crown 3 has been renamed "Miller 3" to recognise the Miller Family contribution to NHHA finalising the third turf.

Umpiring
The better you know the rules of a game the better you can play the game. Here are two documents that could help improve your hockey experience. If you are umpiring at any stage please review the Umpire Briefing document, a document that was given out to umpires at the U18 tournament in 2009 from Craig Gribble, NZ Hockey Umpire Development Manager. Also, the rule book is a good tool to refer to if you keep wondering why the ref always blows the whistle when you touch that ball! :-) If you have any hockey rule questions please feel free to contact Miss Norman.
